Artist Cary Nord will be in the Queen City for the Artist Cary Nord will be in the Queen City for the 2023 Cincinnati Comic Expo! Cary Nord is an Eisner-award winning comics artist and writer known for his work on books such as Daredevil and Conan The Legend. He is the award-winning artist of comic books and graphic novels such as Daredevil, X-Men, and Conan The Barbarian. Throughout his career Cary has drawn virtually every major character in comics, having worked on Superman, Wolverine, Mutant X, Ghost Rider, Spider-Man, Thor, and Star Wars. He is currently working on the critically acclaimed series X-O Manowar from Valiant Entertainment. In 2004, Cary was awarded the industry’s top honour for his work on Conan the Barbarian, taking home the Will Eisner Comic Industry Award for Best Single Issue. Born in Calgary, Cary spent most of his youth drawing, and after attending the Alberta College of Art and Design he began to submit his work to Marvel and DC Comics. Diligence and hard work paid off, and work on single issues grew into longer fan-favourite stories with beloved characters. Artist Don Rosa will be in the Queen City for the Artist Don Rosa will be in the Queen City for the 2023 Cincinnati Comic Expo! Well known in American comics fandom since the 1960’s for his vast comic book collection and comics fanzine activities, Rosa became internationally famous starting in 1987 when he began writing and drawing “Uncle $crooge” and “Donald Duck” comics for various licensed publishers in Europe. Just as they once were in America, Donald Duck comics (based on Carl Barks’ work) continue to be the best selling comics in Europe and South America where the weekly (!) Donald Duck comics have been read by hundreds of millions of fans for over 70 years. This makes Rosa one of the world’s best known cartoonists, but still very easy to visit with at American shows where he can relax in “relative obscurity”. American comics fans are mostly familiar with his most famous work, the Eisner Award winning “Life and Times of $crooge McDuck” series. But American fans can also now see his entire Duck comics career reprinted chronologically in the new DON ROSA LIBRARY from Fantagraphics. Rosa has quit producing new Duck comics due to several reasons, but he stays very busy with signing tours to Europe, visits to American comic cons, and his many hobbies including growing exotic chili peppers, of which he is even now probably giving away bags in the convention hall. For her portrayals in Mulan, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, and The Mandalorian, Ming-Na is one of a very few that have completed the "Disney Trifecta." Ming-Na had her first television appearances on Mister Rogers' Neighborhood and As the World Turns. Her foray into movies followed with roles in The Joy Luck Club, Street Fighter, and others. After voicing the title character in Disney's animated Mulan, she starred in Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. During that time, she was cast in ER, followed by Stargate Universe. She has had various roles on The Batman, Vanished, Push, Phineas and Ferb, Fresh Off the Boat, Young Sheldon, Velma, and dozens of other productions.
